What we collect
thisHUSH does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address or payment details. When you click an outbound retailer link, we record which link was clicked, the page it was on and the time. We store that with the same anonymous daily visitor code described below, never your IP address.
Our web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. Log files are deleted automatically 14 days after they are rotated.
Visit statistics (no cookies)
To understand which guides help people, we count visits ourselves, without cookies or third-party analytics. For each page view we record the page, the referring website (for example a search engine), any campaign tags in the link you followed, device type, browser and operating system, the region from your browser's language setting, how long the page was on screen and how far down it was scrolled, words you search for in our product finder, and an anonymous visitor code.
That code is a one-way hash of your IP address and browser details combined with a random value that changes every day and is deleted after two days. It lets us count unique visitors per day, but it can't identify you or link your visits across days. Your IP address is never stored. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we don't create the visitor code at all.
What's stored in your browser
- Theme (localStorage): your light or dark choice.
- Saved and recently viewed products (localStorage): kept in your browser. They reach our server only if you choose to compare your saved items, as part of that page's address.
- A closed top-pick bar (sessionStorage): if you close the floating top-pick bar on a guide, it stays closed until you close the tab.
Clear your browser's site data for thishush.com to remove all of it.
Retailers and their cookies
When you follow a link to Amazon or another retailer, that retailer may set its own cookies to attribute a purchase to us. Those are governed by the retailer's privacy policy, such as Amazon's Privacy Notice. Amazon OneLink may send visitors outside the US to their local Amazon store, such as Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.ca; that store's own privacy notice applies there.
Your rights
Because we don't hold personal data tied to you, there is usually nothing to access or delete. For any request or question under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA or Canada's PIPEDA, email info@thishush.com.
Children
thisHUSH is not directed at children, even where it covers nursery products, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we add analytics or other services, we'll update this page before they go live, and change the date at the top.
