A little clarity before you buy

A purifier sized to your room.

Start with your room, get an airflow target, then compare the specs. A few clear numbers make a much better shortlist.

Tell us about your room

Length × width. Include connected open space. For one room, 10–3,000 sq ft (about 0.93–279 m²).

Keep these settings in a shareable link.

Your airflow target

Look for a smoke CADR of at least

134CFM

About 228 m³/h, rounded up.

The calculation
200 sq ft × ⅔ (AHAM’s everyday rule) = 134 CFM, rounded up.

Put that number beside the specs

Manufacturer-stated smoke CADR from the product records. These labels compare the area baseline; they do not account for a tall ceiling or a lower fan setting.

Another useful room number

30–50% relative humidity

EPA’s ideal range, if possible. Keep indoor humidity below 60%. Use a humidity meter to check your room.

Read EPA’s humidity guidance

Humidity is a separate measurement. The CADR calculation does not size a humidifier or dehumidifier.
