Choose SleepPhones Wireless if your priority is listening without a cable running to your phone; choose Classic if you want a wired connection to a headphone socket or suitable adapter. AcousticSheep's Classic uses a 3.5 mm stereo plug, while Wireless puts a rechargeable Bluetooth module inside the band. For a gift, settle the recipient's source device, size and fabric before choosing either.

Best for a wired source: SleepPhones Classic
Classic is the straightforward choice for an existing headphone socket. The maker specifies a standard 3.5 mm connection and a flexible 48-inch stereo cord; its catalog shows that cord leaving the back of the headband. Our recommendation is to measure the route from your usual listening position to the player before ordering, rather than assuming that length suits your bedside arrangement.
The exact configuration behind our new product record is Classic (Corded), Pitch Black Breeze fabric, Medium, Eco-Friendly packaging, selected on the official US listing; its SKU is S3C6BM-ECO. That identifies the configuration without guessing a generation from a marketplace title. Medium is a reference configuration, not a fit recommendation for everyone.
The useful trade-off is the physical audio connection: Classic's documented path uses the cord and removable speakers, rather than Wireless's rechargeable Bluetooth module. Choose it when you want that setup and can accommodate the cable. If the player lacks a headphone socket, include the correct adapter in the buying decision.

Best for Bluetooth listening: SleepPhones Wireless
Wireless is our recommendation when you want the phone-to-headband cable gone. AcousticSheep lists Bluetooth 5.0 AAC, module-mounted volume and play/pause controls, a 24-hour full-charge rating, and 4 hours to charge on its current product page. These are manufacturer specifications, not a measured runtime promise.

Check package and model options
- 24 h battery
The existing product card covers Midnight Black Fleece, Medium. Midnight Black is warm fleece; Pitch Black is the breathable, moisture-wicking Breeze fabric. Choose by fabric and measurement as well as color: switching between those black versions changes the material.
Check the module, not just the Wireless name. The current page says 24 hours and a 4-hour charge, while the older Wireless Information FAQ still says up to 10 hours and a 3-hour charge. Keep those specifications attached to their own pages; ask the seller to confirm the battery version. The main product page specifies micro-USB, but confirm the actual charging socket and supplied cable on the unit you order.
Buy Wireless for its connection, not an assumed upgrade in sound or pillow comfort. The published specifications do not establish a listening-quality winner for this comparison.
Build the complete audio and charging kit
AcousticSheep's catalog separates the common fabric-and-speaker design from the connection mechanism: Classic uses a cord, Wireless an internal Bluetooth module. Its compatibility guidance says some Classic sources need an adapter. Follow the audio route before shopping for extras:
Classic
Player's headphone output, or a compatible headphone adapter → Classic stereo cord → removable speakers inside the fabric band.
Wireless
Bluetooth audio source → rechargeable Bluetooth module inside the band → removable speakers.
Classic: match the adapter to the actual port
Standard 3.5 mm headphone socket
- Complete Classic connection
- Plug Classic directly into the headphone output
USB-C iPhone or iPad
- Complete Classic connection
- Compatible USB-C to 3.5 mm headphone adapter, then Classic
Lightning iPhone or iPad
- Complete Classic connection
- Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone adapter, then Classic; Apple's adapter requires iOS 10 or later
Pixel with USB-C
- Complete Classic connection
- Compatible USB-C digital-audio headphone adapter, then Classic

Apple documents both adapter types. Google specifically requires digital-audio support for USB-C accessories, including adapters, on Pixel. For another Android phone, check that phone maker's compatibility guidance rather than assuming a matching connector guarantees audio. Look for an explicitly compatible digital-audio adapter.
There is a stale shortcut to avoid: SleepPhones' adapter page says iPhones without headphone sockets need Lightning adapters. Apple's guidance also covers USB-C, so identify the actual phone port instead of buying by the word “iPhone.” For adapter shopping, see thisUSB's USB stocking stuffers guide.
Wireless: plan the charging arrangement separately
Wireless receives audio by Bluetooth; the product page describes its USB cable as charging hardware. Include the supplied cable and a suitable USB power source in your setup check, and confirm whether your chosen package includes a wall adapter. Avoid assuming the contents from a photo of another bundle.
- Yes: Confirm the exact charging socket and supplied cable before ordering Wireless.
- Partly: Confirm whether a wall adapter is included in the package you select.
- No: A replacement Bluetooth module alone is not a complete headphone kit: the maker excludes the headband and speakers.
- No: An Effortless charging base does not work with Wireless, according to AcousticSheep.
Pick the fabric and size before the color
Both models offer Fleece, described as warm, and Breeze, described as breathable and moisture-wicking. Both are 95% polyester and 5% spandex. We would start with Breeze for someone who specifically prefers less warmth, and fleece for someone who wants a warmer band; neither description guarantees how it will feel against a particular pillow.
AcousticSheep's sizing instructions say to measure around the forehead just above the ears and around the hair at the back. Its size chart in text gives:
Small
- Head circumference, inches
- 20–21 3/8
- Maker's range, cm
- 51–54
Medium

| Large | 23 1/2–25+ | 60–63+ |
Use the maker's ranges as published rather than treating the rounded centimeter boundaries as exact conversions. At a cutoff or between sizes, the maker recommends the smaller size because the fabric stretches.
For side-lying listening, check speaker placement before blaming the connection type. AcousticSheep says the speakers move independently inside the band: position them directly over your ears, with the tag at the back. Its FAQ says a loose band lets the speakers move around. Our buying advice is to assess that fit while an exchange remains available; we make no claim that either model will be pressure-free for every wearer.
Remove the electronics before washing
The care instructions apply to the fabric band, not the assembled headphones. They specify removing the speakers, module and cord, washing on warm, skipping fabric softener, and reinserting the speakers when the band is dry.
Empty the band
Open the back and remove the speakers, cords and any Bluetooth module before washing.
Wash the fabric
Use warm water; the maker advises against fabric softener, ironing and dry cleaning.
Reassemble when dry
Right speaker: red; left: green. Soft gray side toward the ear; coarse white side outward.
Dryer guidance conflicts: the dedicated care page calls for the highest dryer setting, while the sizing-and-care FAQ prefers low heat. Confirm the drying instruction for your particular band with AcousticSheep rather than combining those recommendations. For Classic's cord, the care page also says to disconnect by grasping the plug and to store the cord loosely coiled.
Gift checks, returns and replacement parts
For a gift, write down the complete choice: Classic or Wireless, fabric, color, measured size, source connection, and any adapter or charging hardware. Eco, retail and gift packaging are presentation choices: the maker describes a bag, a retail box and a purple gift box respectively. Gift packaging does not establish a different audio connection.
The Classic listing advertises a 30-day return policy. Ask the actual seller for the return deadline before buying far ahead of the occasion. AcousticSheep's return instructions request the entire purchase including packaging; for a part exchange, they say to send only that part. Keep the packaging and purchase proof.
The maker's one-year limited warranty excludes normal battery wear. Its parts chart lists replacement headbands, speakers and modules; match the component to the model rather than treating a replacement module as another complete kit. Our sleep gifts guide covers other gift choices.
How this differs from Wireless vs Effortless
Classic versus Wireless decides wired audio or Bluetooth. Wireless versus Effortless decides the charging arrangement within the Bluetooth range: AcousticSheep says Effortless charges through the fabric on its induction base, and explicitly says that base does not work with Wireless. Consider Effortless at the maker if that charging method is the feature you want.
How we choose
This is a document-based comparison using AcousticSheep's product pages, component descriptions, care and fit guidance, plus Apple and Google compatibility instructions. Our recommendations prioritize the complete connection and upkeep routine. We have no physical-test results for sound, leakage, pillow pressure or runtime; conflicting published specifications stay visible. Read our selection method.
Verdict
Buy Wireless for Bluetooth listening; buy Classic for a wired source or a confirmed compatible headphone adapter. For either, choose the measured size and desired fabric first. With Wireless, confirm the battery version and charging kit; with Classic, check the port and cord route. Those checks are more useful here than declaring an unsupported universal “best sleep headphones” winner.

Frequently asked questions
Which is better, SleepPhones Classic or Wireless?
Choose Classic for a player with a headphone socket, or when you prefer a wired connection. Choose Wireless when avoiding the cable to your player matters more than avoiding charging. Classic uses a 3.5 mm stereo plug; Wireless streams from a Bluetooth source through a rechargeable module. Our picks follow those connection differences, rather than an unverified claim that one sounds better.
Can SleepPhones Classic work with a USB-C or Lightning iPhone?
Yes, with the appropriate headphone adapter. Classic has a 3.5 mm plug, so match the adapter to the phone's actual port. Apple documents USB-C to 3.5 mm and Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone adapters; the Lightning adapter requires iOS 10 or later. For Pixel phones, Google specifically says USB-C audio accessories and adapters must support digital audio. Check compatibility with your exact phone before ordering.
Are SleepPhones noise cancelling headphones?
No. AcousticSheep describes SleepPhones as noise masking rather than noise cancelling. Their speakers play audio you supply, and the maker describes the fabric as only slightly muffling an external alarm. Choose between Classic and Wireless for their connection and upkeep, without expecting either headband to deliver active noise cancellation or a verified amount of sound reduction.
Can you wash SleepPhones Classic and Wireless?
The fabric headbands are machine washable after you remove all electronics. AcousticSheep's care page says to take out the speakers, module and cord, wash the band on warm, and reinsert the speakers once it is dry. Its pages disagree on dryer heat, so confirm the instruction for your band. Washing the complete assembled headphones is not the documented cleaning method.
