About this guide
thisHUSH covers comfort, quiet and air-quality gear, not health. Nothing on this site is medical advice: for sleep, breathing or hearing concerns, talk to a doctor.
Choose Soundcore Sleep A30 if active noise cancellation for traffic rumble or appliance hum is essential; choose Ozlo Sleepbuds 2 for lighter buds and long streaming sessions if passive isolation and masking suit you. Ozlo publishes up to 14 hours of continuous streaming, while Soundcore's current 8–10-hour default changes playback after sleep detection, so compare the mode you will use.
Official documentation and US purchase terms checked November 2, 2026. Battery figures are manufacturer claims; our picks are based on specifications and documented behavior.
Quick picks and comparison
Pick A30 for ANC: its system combines active cancellation, a passive seal and adaptive masking driven by the charging case. Pick Ozlo for lighter buds: 1.6 g each versus Soundcore's own approximate 3 g figure, plus a longer published continuous-streaming claim. Want personal music stored on the earbuds? Neither supports that.

Best for active noise cancellation: Soundcore Sleep A30

Soundcore
Soundcore Sleep A30 Noise-Cancelling Sleep Earbuds (Moonlit White)
Anker's Soundcore sleep earbuds that combine active noise cancelling with a passive seal and snore-masking audio, with Calm sleep stories and a white-noise library in the app.
Check package and model options
- 10 h battery
A30 is our choice for low, steady noise because Soundcore explicitly targets traffic and appliance hum with ANC. For a partner's snoring, its case analyzes the sound and the earbuds play masking audio; Soundcore says snoring is masked, rather than cancelled by ANC. That distinction matters if you want quiet without a continuous background sound: evaluate ANC alone as well as ANC with masking.
Our pick is regular A30, Moonlit White; Mist Green is also regular A30, while Mist Lilac and Lunar White identify Special. The current US FAQ says the editions now share features and specifications, including Bluetooth 5.4 and Calm content. However, the separate A30 FAQ still specifies 9H/45H and Bluetooth 5.3, while current battery support advertises 8–10 hours by default. The official manual clarifies that A30 supports Bluetooth 5.4 but may display as 5.3. The battery descriptions remain inconsistent; confirm the edition and firmware if that changes your purchase.
Best for long streaming sessions and lighter buds: Ozlo Sleepbuds 2

Ozlo
Small sleep earbuds from a company founded by former Bose Sleepbuds staff: they seal passively with silicone tips, play noise-masking sounds or stream over Bluetooth, and have an in-ear alarm.
Check package and model options
- 14 h battery
This comparison covers Sleepbuds 2, rated up to 14 hours, rather than the original Ozlo generation's up-to-10-hour claim. The buds use silicone-tip isolation and masking, with no ANC. The Smart Case button starts or pauses Sleep Sounds and snoozes alarms. Choose it when those controls and its published streaming endurance matter more to you than adding ANC.
Choose Auto to start masking when streaming stops, or Sensing to switch when sleep is detected. Simple plays stored sound immediately with Bluetooth streaming off; Time Delay starts after a timer; Manual uses the app or case button. Sleep Shield blocks phone audio while Sleep Sounds continue. Our Ozlo generation guide covers the wider model history; Ozlo's generation-specific help explains these modes.
Streaming, local sounds and where the case belongs
Ozlo's Smart Case remains the streaming communication hub, and its support page recommends keeping it on your nightstand. The product specifications say case within 10 ft and phone within 30 ft, but the product FAQ gives 10 ft for each link. Its setup instructions also say to keep phone, case and buds within 10 feet of one another. Use that conservative arrangement first; do not plan a phone in another room around the larger figure.
A30 pairs with your phone through Bluetooth settings, then connects to the soundcore app. Its case has a different bedside job: Soundcore recommends placing it within 5 ft (1.5 m) of the person snoring for adaptive masking.
Ozlo streaming
Phone → Smart Case hub → Sleepbuds. Keep all three nearby.
Soundcore streaming
Phone → earbuds. Put the case near the snoring source for adaptive masking.
Phone-free playback means maker-supplied sounds: Ozlo saves official masking sounds, and A30 stores one white-noise track at a time without personal-file imports. Ozlo's Simple mode turns streaming off; A30 can switch to Local mode after sleep detection. A podcast downloaded to your phone still needs the Bluetooth path; it has not become a file stored on these earbuds.
Battery: compare the playback routine, not the headline
Ozlo's generation-specific help claims up to 14 hours of continuous streaming; its product-page battery footnote describes streaming audio and Sleep Sounds at 50% volume. Soundcore's current support separates mixed playback, high-volume streaming and local audio with ANC off. These are different conditions, so the table is a mode map, not a matched endurance ranking.
Ozlo: up to 14 hours

- Continuous streaming; product footnote uses 50% volume

A30: 8–10 hours

A30: about 6 hours

A30: up to 16 hours

The separate A30 FAQ's 9H/45H claim uses ANC overnight with Bluetooth audio for only 1 hour at 50% volume, then stops playback after sleep detection. That is another distinct routine, documented in the A30 FAQ; the current battery support gives the newer mode breakdown.
The manual calls the ANC-only action Stop Audio; it also says disabling Audio Action Upon Sleep Detection keeps both streaming and ANC running, with higher power use.
Ozlo's guide describes 2–3 additional case charges, while its launch announcement says 2–3 sleeps per case charge; Soundcore claims up to 5 nights total with the case. Avoid calculating a cross-brand case-runtime winner from those descriptions. Check for firmware updates in the soundcore app's settings, note the installed version and rehearse your selected playback action. The quoted battery descriptions do not identify a tested firmware build, so the disagreement between pages cannot establish what a particular firmware update changes.
Alarms, apps and subscriptions
Ozlo requires initial setup through its free app; pair inside that app. Its Sleepbuds 2 help specifies iOS 18 or later and Android 12 or later, but the product page still says iOS 17 or later. If you use an older iPhone, resolve this app-requirement conflict before buying.
Ozlo's private alarm works without a connected phone, including Bluetooth-disabled mode. A30 supports up to five in-ear alarms in its app; Soundcore advises reconnecting to the app to correct clock drift. Set the earbuds' own alarm and rehearse it with the playback mode you intend to use.
For A30 Local mode, check Playback Duration: the shared FAQ says the default is two hours, adjustable in the app. Adjust local volume through the app or earbud taps; the phone's volume buttons do not control it.
Soundcore currently includes free access to 20 Calm Sleep Stories and 5 Meditations in its app; playing them needs internet, with previously played stories cached offline for 15 days. Check separately for access to the whole Calm catalog. Ozlo sells Sleepbuds 2 as a one-time purchase; its separate Renew subscription lends original-generation Sleepbuds and requires returning them to cancel.
Fit and returns: what to check before buying
Ozlo lists bare-bud dimensions of 11 × 17 × 12 mm and four silicone-tip sizes. Its printed inch dimensions do not align with those millimeter values, so we use the published millimeters without converting them. A30 has multiple tip and wing sizes, with medium pre-installed. Weight and dimensions cannot settle pillow pressure or which seal works in your ear; try the fit in your usual position promptly.
For direct purchases, Ozlo returns allow a request within 30 days of delivery and require clean buds, original packaging, the received condition and photos. Soundcore returns allow undamaged products within 30 days of purchase, with all accessories and original packaging; the buyer covers shipping for non-quality returns. These direct-store policies do not establish the terms of an Amazon order: Ozlo excludes purchases from other sellers, and Soundcore says third-party terms may differ.
Check the seller
Save the applicable return deadline and packaging requirements before ordering.
Try the fit
Compare the supplied tip sizes while lying in your usual position.
Rehearse the routine
Verify streaming, the switch to local sound, the ANC setting and the earbuds' alarm before relying on them overnight.
How we choose
We compared official product pages, generation-specific support, playback instructions and purchase terms. Our recommendations are research judgments: we cannot establish comparative noise reduction, pillow comfort or real battery endurance from these documents. Conflicting official claims stay visible beside the decision they affect. Read How we choose for the site's method.
Verdict
Soundcore Sleep A30 is our pick when ANC is the deciding feature; configure the sleep-detection action so it behaves as intended. Ozlo Sleepbuds 2 is our pick for lighter buds and long streaming sessions, provided its passive seal, masking approach and nearby-case arrangement suit your routine. Buy the exact generation and edition, then evaluate your actual playback routine within the seller's return period.

Frequently asked questions
Do Ozlo Sleepbuds 2 have active noise cancellation?
No. Ozlo Sleepbuds 2 use a passive silicone-tip seal and masking audio, while Soundcore Sleep A30 adds active noise cancellation for low-frequency sounds such as traffic and appliance hum. Ozlo's Sleep Shield blocks phone audio from interrupting stored Sleep Sounds; it is a playback control, not environmental ANC.
Can either pair play my own music without a phone?
Both can stream your own audio over Bluetooth, but neither supports importing personal audio files into its local library. Ozlo stores its official masking sounds; Soundcore can save one white-noise track at a time. Ozlo's built-in alarm also works with the phone disconnected and Bluetooth disabled.
What is the difference between Sleep A30 and Sleep A30 Special?
The current US page says both now share features and specifications, including Bluetooth 5.4 and Calm content. Regular A30 comes in Moonlit White or Mist Green; Special comes in Mist Lilac or Lunar White. The separate A30 FAQ still describes 9H/45H; its manual says Bluetooth 5.4 may display as 5.3. Confirm the exact stock and firmware before assuming equivalence.
Can Soundcore Sleep A30 keep ANC on after sleep detection?
Yes, but check the selected action: the current shared page says Play Local Audio, ANC Off disables ANC after sleep detection. Pause Audio stops playback and retains the previous ANC setting. The up-to-16-hour figure is for local audio with ANC off at 50% volume, so it does not describe continuous ANC. Rehearse your chosen action before relying on it overnight.
