About this guide
thisHUSH covers comfort, quiet and air-quality gear, not health. Nothing on this site is medical advice: for sleep, breathing or hearing concerns, talk to a doctor.
Choose SNOOZ Pro if you want a fan sound machine without a cooling breeze: it is our pick for sound-only use. Choose SNOOZ Breez 2 if you also want directed airflow, with separate controls that let you switch that airflow off in winter. Both generate their white noise with real internal fans, according to SNOOZ's Breez 2 and Pro pages.

Best for sound alone: SNOOZ Pro
Pro is the more sensible choice if moving air is never on your wish list. Its internal fan makes continuous, non-looping sound without an unwanted cooling breeze. You adjust volume manually and turn the knob underneath to move between a lighter fan sound and a deeper drone. That gives you a useful way to change the character of the sound, rather than choosing only how loud it is. SNOOZ describes the controls here.

SNOOZ
A fan-based sound machine with a real fan inside, 10 volume levels, a tone knob, a travel case and an optional, subscription-free app for schedules and remote control.
Check package and model options
It also takes less space and weighs less than Breez 2, using the dimensions and weights above. The included case makes Pro our choice for a gift recipient who wants to pack a sound machine for trips. Plan around an outlet: SNOOZ describes Pro as using a wall adapter and points buyers needing battery power toward a different model.
Choose Pro when: you already have a fan you like, dislike air blowing across the bed, or want a compact sound machine. If you want to compare other sound sources before committing to a real fan, start with our white noise machine guide.
Best for airflow plus sound: SNOOZ Breez 2
Breez 2 puts an airflow fan and a separate white-noise fan in one unit. Its useful feature is independence: you can change the breeze without having to use that fan's speed as your only sound adjustment. You can also switch either function off. The Breez 2 help article confirms these operating modes.
Buy it for the airflow as well as the sound. SNOOZ says Breez does not oscillate; you aim its angle and direction by hand. For a shared bed, decide whose side needs the breeze and whether a fixed direction suits the room before choosing it. If you want a broader fan shortlist, see our quiet bedroom fan guide.
Auto-Fan Mode is a separate reason to choose Breez 2. Through the app, you set a temperature threshold and the airflow switches on above it and off when the room cools back down. SNOOZ specifies a 5-minute delay to avoid rapid switching from brief temperature changes. That is temperature-triggered fan operation; don't read it as a promise to hold the room at a set temperature. Auto-Fan explanation.
Winter use: turn off airflow, keep the fan sound
You do not need to point a running Breez 2 away from the bed just to keep its sound. SNOOZ's airflow instructions say to long-press Airflow Down, or press it until airflow turns off. Its sound instructions say White Noise Up turns the sound on; the white-noise buttons adjust it separately.
Switch airflow off
Long-press Airflow Down, or tap it until airflow stops.
Set the sound
Press White Noise Up to turn sound on, then adjust its volume.
Bring back the breeze when wanted
Press Airflow Up; adjust airflow separately from sound.
For airflow alone, reverse the idea: long-press White Noise Down, or tap it until white noise turns off, and use the airflow controls. Independence refers to the dedicated sound fan. It does not establish that the airflow fan is inaudible; SNOOZ's controls documentation is not a silence measurement.
If this will be a sound-only purchase all year, choose Pro. Breez 2's ability to turn airflow off makes it versatile, but it doesn't remove the larger housing from your bedside table.
Controls and app setup: what needs a phone?
Both work without the app for their basic controls. SNOOZ's model pages describe the app as optional and subscription-free. The practical split is:
Breez 2 airflow and sound volume
- On the device
- Separate touchpad controls
- In the optional app
- Remote control also available
Pro volume and tone
- On the device
- Manual volume; bottom knob for tone
- In the optional app
- Remote control; don't assume motorized tone adjustment
On/off schedules and fades
- On the device
- Use the app for these features
- In the optional app
- Available on both
Breez 2 temperature switching
- On the device
- Set Auto-Fan Mode in the app
- In the optional app
- Available on Breez 2
Button brightness
- On the device
- Set brightness in the app
- In the optional app
- Available on both; Pro also lists night light mode

The general app description mentions adjusting tone, while Pro's model-specific instructions put tone adjustment on its bottom knob. Plan to use that physical knob for Pro's tone.
The app uses Bluetooth to communicate with devices. SNOOZ says ordinary pairing and control need no account, and internet is only required for firmware updates. Updates require an account as well. These statements describe local control; they do not establish remote access from outside the home.
The current phone requirements are Android 10 or later and iOS 18 or later. SNOOZ also lists short-session timers for updated Breez and Pro devices, so check firmware if that feature matters. Timer support note.
Variants: Breez 2, first-generation Breez and Pro
Confirm Breez 2 as the generation you are buying. The current product heading says Breez 2, but its specification block still uses model designation SNOOZ-BRZ, and the manual filed under Breez 2 is titled Breez. The shared wording alone is not enough to identify a second-generation unit.
For SNOOZ Pro, this comparison uses the existing Cotton single-unit record. Pro already includes its protective case. A Pro multipack adds machines; SNOOZ Original is a separate model whose outer shell rotates for tone adjustment, whereas Pro has the bottom knob. Confirm the model, finish and quantity on any gift order. Pro and Original differences.
Buying guide: space, power and published measurements
Space: use the full dimensions in the table to check your intended shelf. Pro is our pick for a crowded nightstand. For Breez 2, choose a location that also allows you to aim its fixed airflow where you want it. For sound placement, SNOOZ suggests putting Pro between you and the noise source, 3–6 feet from your head; this is the maker's general placement advice.
Power: both US product pages specify a Type A plug and 100–240 V input. The Breez 2 voltage FAQ and Pro voltage FAQ also specify 50/60 Hz and say a plug adapter may be needed abroad. Keep the supplied power equipment with the gift. An input-voltage range is not a statement that the two products' adapters are interchangeable.
Noise and airflow: Pro's 46–87 dBA figure is measured at the device. Breez 2's 380 CFM rating describes airflow; its checked specification block supplies no numerical sound range or airflow test method. These figures cannot establish which sounds quieter at the bed, and the CFM number should not be read as a noise rating. We therefore avoid a shared decibel chart or a room-size promise.
Gift checklist
Use the airflow preference as the first filter, then check the practical details before wrapping. Our sleep gift guide covers the broader shortlist.
- Yes: Confirm Breez 2 generation, or Pro model, finish and unit count
- Yes: Check space and an accessible outlet; keep the power equipment together
- Yes: Pro's protective case is already included
- Partly: App features: check the recipient's phone meets SNOOZ's current requirements
- Partly: Firmware updates require an account and internet; everyday app control does not
Don't assume a recipient wants air blowing across the bed just because they like fan sound. For an unknown preference, Pro is our recommendation for the simpler sound-only gift; choose Breez 2 when directed airflow is an explicit request.
How we choose
This is a comparison of manufacturer specifications and instructions, without physical product testing. We checked SNOOZ's current product pages, model-specific support pages, manuals and first-generation recall information. We separate airflow from sound generation, device controls from app features, and measured conditions from marketing descriptions. The manual pages were also inspected visually because much of their text is embedded as artwork.
The picks follow those documented differences. No listening comparison, independent airflow measurement or room-temperature result is claimed. Our wider editorial method is on How we choose.
Verdict
Get SNOOZ Pro for fan sound without a breeze, especially when bedside space or packing matters. Get Breez 2 for independently controlled airflow and real fan sound, with a sound-only winter mode and optional temperature-triggered airflow. Confirm the Breez generation before buying: that is a more consequential distinction than either product's finish.

Frequently asked questions
Can SNOOZ Breez 2 make white noise without blowing air in winter?
Yes. Breez 2 has separate airflow and white-noise fans, so the airflow fan can be off while the sound fan runs. Long-press Airflow Down, or tap it until airflow switches off, then use the white-noise controls for volume. If you only want sound throughout the year, our pick is the smaller SNOOZ Pro.
Do SNOOZ Breez 2 and Pro need an app, Wi-Fi or an account?
Both have physical controls for everyday use; the free app adds scheduling and remote control. SNOOZ says pairing and control work without an account or internet connection; firmware updates require both. Its current app requirements are Android 10 or later and iOS 18 or later. Check the recipient's phone if app features are part of a gift.
Is Breez 2 the same as the original Breez 2-in-1 fan?
Check the generation explicitly: 2-in-1 describes the fan-and-sound functions. SNOOZ's first-generation recall covers serial numbers beginning BZ10, BZ02 or KTCD, found underneath the wooden base, with a removable barrel-jack power connection. The notice says Breez 2 is not affected and offers a replacement for affected first-generation units. BZ02 is an affected prefix despite containing 02.
Is Breez 2 louder or quieter than SNOOZ Pro?
The checked specifications do not establish a comparable decibel result. Pro's published range is 46–87 dBA measured at the device; Breez 2's product specifications give airflow of 380 CFM without a numerical sound range. Those measure different things. We would not rank their loudness from these figures or equate Pro's device reading with a reading at your pillow.
