Choose the Yogasleep Dohm Classic for most buyers in this comparison: its real fan has two speeds, low and high, plus acoustic volume and tone adjustment. Choose the Dohm Uno if you want one fan speed and simple on/off operation, while still being able to tune tone and volume. The decision is how much adjustment you want beside the bed; both use a real fan rather than recorded sound. (Classic, Uno, model differences)
Quick picks
- Classic: our default pick and gift choice when preferences are unknown. Its low/high choice gives the recipient more room to adjust.
- Uno: choose it for someone who specifically wants a simple switch. Its single speed removes the motor-speed decision, not acoustic tuning.
- Choose another design if you need a built-in timer, app control or night light. Yogasleep's comparison lists none of those for either model. For a wider shortlist, see our best white noise machines.
The speed and feature differences above come from Yogasleep's Uno page and family comparison.

Uno is lighter, but it does not save tabletop width or depth on these specifications. Give either machine a place of its own; don't choose Uno expecting a smaller footprint.
Best for more adjustment: Yogasleep Dohm Classic

Yogasleep
Yogasleep's original fan-based sound machine: a real fan motor inside an adjustable housing makes a steady, non-looping rush of air, with two speeds, a rotating cap for volume and a collar for tone.
Check package and model options
The Classic is our recommendation if you are unsure which fan sound you will prefer. Its switch selects low or high speed, then its housing lets you refine the result. Yogasleep explains the controls specifically: turning the outer cap changes volume, while turning the collar shifts tone from a deeper hum toward a brighter rush of air. That gives you a useful sequence: choose the motor speed first, then shape the sound. (Classic controls)
The extra speed is the reason to choose it over Uno. It is not a promise of superior sound quality in every room, and it does not give you a library of rain, music or other recordings. A real internal fan makes its continuous sound; the cap and collar change that acoustic output. (Sound source)
For a gift, we would choose Classic unless the recipient has asked for the simplest possible on/off design. You can let them try both speeds without needing to guess their preference beforehand.

Best for a simple switch: Yogasleep Dohm Uno
The Yogasleep Dohm Uno white noise machine keeps the real internal fan but removes the low/high motor-speed choice. Its single speed still works with adjustable acoustic tone and volume. That makes it a sensible choice for someone who wants to set the sound once and use the power switch afterward. (Uno controls and sound source)
An especially useful detail comes from Yogasleep's sound-comparison FAQ: it describes Uno's sound as comparable to something between Classic's low and high settings. Do not assume Uno simply reproduces Classic on low. That description also is not a measured promise that a particular collar position will match either Classic setting.
Choose Uno because you want that simpler control scheme. If you already own a Classic and alternate between its speeds, our advice is to keep that flexibility when replacing it.

Fan speed and tone adjustment do different jobs
The switch changes the motor's operating speed on Classic; Uno has no second speed to select. Turning the housing changes the acoustic output. On Classic, the maker assigns volume adjustment to the cap and tone adjustment to the collar; on Uno, its product FAQ describes using the cap and collar for tone and volume. (Classic, Uno)
Yogasleep's wording conflicts here. Its general choosing article describes Uno as producing “one consistent tone.” Its model-specific support instructions and current product FAQ explicitly describe adjustable tone and volume. We use those model-specific instructions for the buying decision: Uno is single-speed, not acoustically fixed.
Neither machine offers selectable digital sound tracks: both generate sound mechanically. Yogasleep markets the sound as white noise, while its pink-noise FAQ describes the Dohm sound as pink noise. For shopping, the useful distinction is adjustable fan sound versus a menu of separate sound programs. Our white vs pink vs brown noise guide explains the terminology.
Versions: check the whole model name
Dohm Classic and plain Dohm are different housings. Yogasleep's model comparison calls the modern design Dohm Natural and says it shares Classic's internal components and operation. That does not make either one a single-speed Uno.
Nova and Connect are separate feature choices. In the family table, Nova adds a night light and timer, while Connect has app control. Those features do not carry over to Classic or Uno merely because the listing says Dohm.
For Uno, the White manufacturer variant is SKU 3501000. The maker also lists Charcoal and Pink finishes. Check model, finish, quantity and regional power together; a color name or a travel-case bundle is not enough to identify the electrical version. (Uno variants)
Power and placement before you buy
Both machines need plug-in AC power. Yogasleep's electrical FAQ specifies 120 VAC, 60 Hz, with 18W for Classic and 16W for Uno. The current product pages include a 7-foot AC cable with Classic and a 6-foot AC cable with Uno. Plan the outlet location before choosing a spot.
For an overseas gift, choose the destination's version. Yogasleep's international guidance distinguishes domestic Dohms from separate 240 V regional versions and advises against using travel converters with domestic units. A plug adapter does not establish electrical compatibility. For a machine to pack regularly, start with our portable sound machines.
For placement, Yogasleep says to keep a Dohm upright on a flat surface, rather than mounting it on a wall. Its placement guidance also says to place it closer to you when the disturbance is a loud neighbor or colleague. Its distance guidance says at least three feet from the listener's head for all users. Its home-placement article warns against under-bed locations where a blanket could cover a fan-based machine.
Compare the sound from where you will use it
We recommend comparing the controls with the machine in its intended position, following the placement guidance above. Keep the location the same while comparing settings, then listen from your usual position rather than leaning over the housing. This is a practical comparison procedure, not a calibrated loudness measurement.
Choose a suitable position
Keep the machine upright on a flat surface, clear of bedding, at the maker's recommended distance.
Choose the fan setting
Try low and high on Classic; turn Uno on at its single speed.
Adjust the housing
Make small acoustic adjustments until the tone and volume suit your preference.
Listen from your usual position
Judge the sound where you will actually hear it before changing the placement again.
Do not interpret Classic's two speeds as a loudness ratio or read Uno's “between” description as a decibel specification. We recommend Classic for its extra adjustment choice, not an unverified claim that it will cover a particular disturbance better.
Gift checklist
Before ordering, confirm the recipient wants real fan sound rather than selectable recordings, and ask whether a low/high choice matters. Confirm a suitable local outlet, cable reach and space for an upright machine. Recheck the complete model name, finish, single-unit or bundle contents, and destination voltage on the selected offer.
For care after gifting, Yogasleep's cleaning instructions recommend wiping the exterior with a damp cloth and advise against opening the Dohm for cleaning. Include the maker's instructions with the gift.
How we choose
This is a document-based comparison, checked November 2, 2026. We compare Yogasleep's product specifications, model-specific support answers, electrical requirements and placement instructions. We flag conflicting wording rather than turning it into a specification. Our picks reflect control flexibility and simplicity; we have not physically evaluated these machines or assigned them a sound-quality score. See How we choose.
Verdict
Get Classic when you want more adjustment or are buying a gift without knowing the recipient's preferred fan setting. Get Uno when a single-speed, on/off design is the point. Both retain adjustable acoustic sound; neither adds a built-in timer, app or night light. Check the regional power version before ordering.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Dohm Classic and Uno?
The Classic has low and high fan speeds; the Uno has one. Both make sound with a real internal fan and let you adjust the sound through the housing. Yogasleep describes the Uno's sound as comparable to a setting between the Classic's low and high. Choose Classic for more adjustment or Uno for simpler on/off operation.
Can you adjust the volume on the Dohm Uno?
Yes. Yogasleep's model-specific support FAQ says its adjustable collar controls tone and volume, and its current product FAQ describes turning the cap and collar. Single speed means the motor has no low/high choice; it does not mean fixed loudness. Yogasleep's general buying article describes one consistent tone, which conflicts with those model-specific instructions.
Do the Dohm Classic and Uno have a timer or need an app?
Neither has a built-in timer or app control in Yogasleep's model comparison. Both use physical controls and plug-in power, and neither has a night light. If scheduled shutoff is essential, choose a machine with that feature rather than assuming a Dohm model name includes it. Dohm Nova and Dohm Connect have different feature sets.
Can I use a US Dohm Uno or Classic overseas?
Yogasleep specifies 120 VAC, 60 Hz for both US models. Its international-use guidance restricts domestic Dohms to the US and Canada and advises against travel converters. The maker also documents separate 240 V regional Dohms. Buy the version intended for the destination; a travel case or a plug adapter does not establish voltage compatibility.
