Best for standalone or nearby access: Corentium Home 2
Home 2 gives you its LCD views without creating an account. Its manual says the 24-hour and 7-day averages update hourly; the 30-day view updates daily once available. The cumulative average becomes a rolling one-year average after 365 days, so that on-screen long-term value is not an unlimited archive.
Bluetooth syncing adds cloud history; SmartLink adds remote access through a compatible hub. Fully sync any history you want to keep before moving Home 2 or removing batteries.

Best for direct Wi-Fi: View Radon
View Radon is the simpler remote-access purchase if you are starting from scratch: its own Wi-Fi sends readings to your account without buying a hub. Setup uses the Airthings app, an account and Bluetooth; ongoing data transfer needs 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, not a 5 GHz-only network. The screen is configurable through the app.
Its own Wi-Fi works on batteries. To serve as a hub for another compatible monitor, View needs USB power and Wi-Fi.
Connection paths: where the phone, hub and cloud fit
Home 2 uses a nearby phone or SmartLink gateway as its Internet bridge; View Radon uses direct Wi-Fi. The dedicated Airthings Hub needs Ethernet and external power. View and Hub manuals rule out local data retrieval.

One documentation trap: the View Radon product page lists “WiFi or Airthings SmartLink (with Hub),” but the View manual explicitly says a View cannot link to an Airthings Hub or another View hub. Plan on View Radon’s own Wi-Fi; use Home 2 as the hub-connected detector.

View’s outage buffer is not a promise of days of offline logging. Its manual also rules out retrieving readings over Bluetooth. For an Internet-free location, our choice is Home 2; prolonged View disconnections can leave gaps in the record.
For Home 2, start a fresh measurement when changing rooms so the old room’s averages do not carry over. After fully syncing, hold the Bluetooth and Units buttons together for five seconds; new radon values appear after 24 hours. View’s room-change instructions instead describe unpairing and re-adding, with previous segments on the dashboard rather than in the app.
Keep a copy outside the app
Both connected paths rely on an Airthings account and cloud storage. The CSV instructions allow up to one year per export, adjoining exports for longer history, and UTC timestamps. Home 2 used entirely offline has no export.
Sync
Upload the readings you want to keep before changing Home 2 batteries or starting its next measurement.
Export
Log into the web dashboard with your app account; select Devices, the monitor, then Export to CSV.
Label
Keep the exported period with its room name; interpret timestamps as UTC.
Power: battery estimates and operating conditions
Home 2 uses two AA batteries. Its sheet estimates up to three years unconnected, two years on Bluetooth and three years on SmartLink. The offline/connected help page instead gives 3.5, 1.5 and three years, respectively. These are unresolved manufacturer estimates, not replacement schedules.
View Radon uses six AA batteries or USB. Airthings’ product-page feature text says up to two years; its technical specifications say up to three years depending on sensor interval and Wi-Fi router. The sheet also lists up to three years. On USB, installed batteries can take over automatically; USB does not recharge them. Hub mode stops when View runs on batteries alone.
Buying guide: match the exact model
Home 2 is not the original Corentium Home. Airthings’ comparison identifies the original as radon-only, while Home 2 adds temperature, humidity and connectivity. The Home 2 sheet identifies model 325, US/Europe SKU 3250 and Canada SKU 3253; the US page’s structured data instead says SKU 3255. Ask the seller to confirm the supplied region and code; the documents do not establish that those SKUs are interchangeable.
View Radon is model 2989 / SKU 989, a single monitor in the cited sheet. It is a different sensor package from View Plus, which adds PM2.5, CO2, VOCs and pressure. Choose View Plus only when you want those extra measurements in the same room; see our View Plus vs Wave Plus comparison.
For a multiroom purchase, write down each detector, the gateway and its power/network connection before ordering. Check older Wave hardware separately: the View manual excludes first-generation Wave units with serial numbers beginning 2900. A shared brand name does not establish hub compatibility.
Startup and accuracy: compare the same kind of number
Home 2’s first radon display is a 24-hour average after 24 hourly samples, not an instantaneous reading. Its full six screen views are available after 30 days. The cited View Radon sheet specifies 60-minute sampling but no first-result time; sampling frequency alone does not settle which starts sooner.
Home 2’s sheet specifies precision within 10% after four days at 10 pCi/L or seven days at 5.4 pCi/L. View Radon’s sheet gives a typical seven-day-average accuracy of ±10% and two-month average of ±5% at 5.4 pCi/L, after 30 days of continuous measuring. Those conditions differ, so we do not name an accuracy winner.
A first display is not a completed test. EPA calls for follow-up after an initial short-term test result of 4 pCi/L or higher, and a second short-term test immediately if the first is more than twice that action level. A maker’s settling or averaging period is no reason to defer that follow-up. Use our radon detector roundup and official testing guidance alongside the EPA Citizen’s Guide.
How we choose
We compared official sheets, manuals and support instructions on November 2, 2026; thisHUSH has not physically tested these monitors. Recommendations prioritize readable averages, data access and retained history, with document conflicts preserved. See how we choose.
Verdict
Get Corentium Home 2 for standalone readings and optional nearby syncing; sync before battery removal or a new measurement. Get View Radon for direct Wi-Fi and access while away, adding USB power for hub mode. Export history you want to keep.

Frequently asked questions
Does Corentium Home 2 need Wi-Fi or the Airthings app?
No. It measures and displays radon, temperature and humidity on its own. Bluetooth plus an Internet-connected phone adds synced graphs and cloud history. For access to new readings while away, connect Home 2 by SmartLink to an Airthings Hub or a USB-powered View monitor with an Internet connection; Home 2 has no direct Wi-Fi connection.
Can View Radon sync readings over Bluetooth without Wi-Fi?
No. The View manual says Bluetooth is for setup and configuration, while readings go through Wi-Fi to the Airthings cloud. Airthings documents approximately two hours of local buffering during a Wi-Fi outage, depending on sampling interval. That makes View Radon a different choice from Home 2 for a location without reliable Internet.
Will changing batteries erase my radon history?
For Home 2 used offline, Airthings says previous data becomes inaccessible when batteries are removed. Fully sync first to retain uploaded history in your account. View can switch between USB and batteries without interruption when both are available, but USB does not recharge batteries. Export important synced data before planned changes; the cited View instructions do not guarantee unsynced-data survival after complete power loss.
Does a first radon reading mean my test is complete?
No. Home 2 first displays a 24-hour average after 24 hourly samples. EPA describes short-term tests as lasting two to 90 days, depending on the device, and long-term tests as more than 90 days. Follow the device instructions and EPA follow-up procedure. An early number or an app color does not complete that procedure.
