Buy the Aranet4 HOME if you want room measurements you can turn into a spreadsheet: its app documents CSV and XLSX exports and 90-day history. Choose the INKBIRD IAM-T1 for screen readings and nearby Bluetooth charts if you can accept unresolved export details and ask the maker to reconcile its conflicting battery claims.
This comparison focuses on records, calibration and the complete package. For other sensor combinations, see our CO2 monitor shortlist; for centralized monitoring, see Aranet4 HOME vs PRO. Documentation checked November 2, 2026.

There is no accuracy winner established here. Unlike the abbreviated IAM-T1 product description, its manual supplies qualifying conditions, matching Aranet's headline conditions. Aranet also describes its figures as typical limits that 95% of sensors meet in equilibrium at sale, with drift relevant over time. These are manufacturer specifications, not a comparison of readings from physical units.
Best for records: Aranet4 HOME
Choose HOME for a repeatable room-comparison notebook. The e-ink screen shows CO2, temperature and humidity, with pressure available in the app. It works immediately with batteries installed; the default interval is five minutes, automatic calibration is disabled, and the buzzer is off.

Aranet
A battery-powered, e-ink CO2 monitor with a true NDIR sensor and pressure compensation, plus temperature and humidity, that logs to a phone app over Bluetooth.
Check package and model options
- CO2 (NDIR), temperature, relative humidity, air pressure (pressure shown in the app)
The current Aranet Home instructions explain the export route: open the graph, choose a measurement, tap share, and select the time range and file format. The app supports iOS and Android and communicates with the monitor over Bluetooth. Keep the phone nearby for new data and settings; the monitor keeps measuring independently when the app closes.
The compromise is synchronization discipline. The app's 90-day history is longer than the device's memory at any interval below ten minutes. Sync before that local window expires, and before replacing batteries: battery removal erases the monitor's stored history.
Alternative for screen readings and charts: INKBIRD IAM-T1
IAM-T1 combines a Senseair NDIR sensor with a 2.13-inch e-ink screen, configurable CO2 thresholds and app-adjustable buzzer settings. Its manual lists Bluetooth 5.0, local recording for 30 days and transfer to the phone for historical charts. One minute is the default sampling interval.
That makes it worth considering if your routine is looking at the display and reviewing room trends nearby. However, the documents saved here do not define its export file format, a precise app-history cap, or separate offline-memory limits for each interval. We would request a sample file before buying it for a spreadsheet workflow. This is an evidence gap, not a claim that export is impossible.
Use the INKBIRD app. The maker's support clarification identifies INKBIRD Pro as the older app and says the IBS-M1 gateway does not support IAM-T1. Adding that gateway does not turn this purchase into a remote monitoring kit.
Sampling interval, history and export worksheet
Both offer one-, two-, five- and ten-minute sampling. Choose the interval before collecting a comparison: Aranet explains that changing intervals restructures stored readings through averaging or repeated values. Switching an old ten-minute record to one-minute sampling cannot recover the missing original measurements.
Aranet's memory and battery tables make the trade-off explicit:

These battery estimates assume 20°C and the maker's reference batteries. They are mathematical extrapolations, not guaranteed runtimes; Bluetooth activity and extended-range mode affect them. IAM-T1's blanket 30-day claim does not supply an equivalent per-interval table, so we have not filled one in by assumption.
Use the worksheet as follows:
Choose an interval
Keep the same setting throughout the room comparison.
Schedule retrieval
For HOME, return before the local-history window above expires; enable background data read if useful.
Save a sample file
Check the time range, timestamp convention, units and missing rows before committing to a long record.
Aranet's background data read can synchronize while the app runs in the background and the phone is in range. It does not extend the monitor's memory. Export regularly: Aranet says older app data is overwritten after its retention window.
For your own worksheet, record model, room, interval, start/end time, oldest downloaded reading, occupants, window/door changes and export filename. For IAM-T1, add sample file received and app retention confirmed. These are our suggested recordkeeping fields, not promised columns in either app.
Battery claims: do not buy by the largest headline
INKBIRD's catalogue FAQ says IAM-T1 can last up to 18 months on two AAs. Its manual instead says four years with large-capacity alkaline AAs and a ten-minute interval; the alternate product view also says four years. The official sources disagree.
Aranet provides more qualified estimates, but its table is still a planning aid. Pick your sampling interval first, then compare the matching row rather than a maximum obtained with different Bluetooth or battery settings.
Calibration: distinguish the modes
Aranet4 HOME: factory calibrated, with manual mode selected by default. Its manual recommends calibration annually, more often in dusty use. Manual calibration needs fresh outdoor air, with people, animals and plants at least one meter away. The app can start it; follow the instructions for your hardware if using physical controls. Automatic mode requires fresh-air exposure for at least eight hours each month. Our advice is to leave that mode disabled if your placement cannot provide the required baseline exposure.
IAM-T1: its manual also gives an annual calibration recommendation and identifies an app option to reset CO2 to factory calibration. That is different from leaving automatic calibration enabled. In its support explanation, INKBIRD says the automatic process requires at least seven undisturbed days in a well-ventilated location and is generally unnecessary to enable because the factory cycle is already completed. Check the selected mode with support before starting a routine intended for a different monitor.
Winter room comparisons and placement
Keep placement and recording consistent. HSE's CO2 monitoring guidance, written for workplaces, recommends head-height placement, away from windows, doors and supply openings, and more than 50 cm from people. It recommends repeated occupied-room readings with occupant counts and ventilation changes recorded; weather can change natural ventilation.
Apply that as a comparison method: record an ordinary closed-window period and a ventilation change from the same representative position. Avoid judging a room from a reading taken while carrying the monitor or breathing over it. Aranet also says to leave its side openings clear and avoid direct sunlight and splashes. For humidity-only shopping, see our hygrometer guide.
Gift and Black Friday checklist: the complete kit
Buy Aranet4 HOME, TDSPC0H3, for the standalone device discussed here. PRO's additional base-station connection serves a different setup; a PRO base station is unnecessary for HOME. Aranet lists two alkaline AAs and a configuration pin in the package. IAM-T1 lists the monitor, two AAs, a user manual and a quickstart guide.
The listed battery packages already provide power for setup. Consider spare batteries, a protective case or a wall mount as separate shopping decisions unless the selected bundle explicitly includes them. For a gift or a seasonal promotion, inspect the exact model and contents before comparing offers.
- Yes: Exact model checked: IAM-T1 or Aranet4 HOME
- Yes: Included AA batteries confirmed in the selected package
- Yes: Recipient's phone can install the correct app and pair over Bluetooth
- Partly: Case, mount and spare batteries: verify separately
Have the recipient check the current app on their phone before the return window closes. On HOME, verify the disabled-by-default buzzer suits them; IAM-T1's buzzer can also be turned off in its app. A gift is ready when its display, settings and first history transfer are checked.
How we choose
We compared official model-specific manuals, the HOME datasheet, current app instructions and INKBIRD support replies. We checked accuracy qualifications, interval-dependent memory and package contents, and retained conflicting maker claims. This is documentary research, without physical product trials. We favor Aranet's specified file workflow for recordkeeping; we do not infer a measured sensor advantage from the specification table. Our general method is on How we choose.
Verdict
Aranet4 HOME is our pick for records you intend to keep: choose an interval, schedule Bluetooth retrieval and export before history rolls over. IAM-T1 remains an alternative for its screen and charts, provided you resolve the battery claim and verify the file workflow you need. Buy the exact monitor and complete battery package, then set it up before leaving it to log.

Frequently asked questions
Is INKBIRD IAM-T1 as accurate as Aranet4 HOME?
Their published CO2 accuracy formulas match: ±(30 ppm + 3% of reading). The IAM-T1 manual and Aranet HOME datasheet both qualify that figure over 0–5000 ppm, 15–35°C and 0–80% relative humidity. Matching specifications do not establish identical performance in your room. Our preference for Aranet concerns its documented logging and export workflow, rather than a measured accuracy advantage.
Can Aranet4 HOME and INKBIRD IAM-T1 export CSV?
Aranet Home explicitly supports CSV and XLSX: open a graph, select the measurement, use the share icon, then choose the date range and format. IAM-T1 documents Bluetooth transfer and historical charts, but its file format and precise app retention limit were not confirmed in the documents saved for this comparison. Request a sample export if spreadsheet compatibility decides your purchase; do not assume that a history chart guarantees the file you need.
Can I use these CO2 monitors without a phone?
Both have local e-ink displays and run on AA batteries, so you can read the monitor itself. A phone becomes important for retrieving history and changing supported settings. Aranet HOME works immediately with its factory defaults, including a five-minute interval and disabled buzzer. For logging, check the current Aranet Home or INKBIRD app on the recipient's phone and complete a Bluetooth connection before leaving the monitor unattended.
Does Aranet4 HOME need a PRO base station?
No. HOME is the standalone Bluetooth model; the additional base-station connection belongs to Aranet4 PRO. The HOME package includes two alkaline AA batteries and a configuration pin. IAM-T1's listed package includes two AA batteries, a manual and a quickstart guide. For a gift, confirm the exact monitor and included accessories rather than assuming that a similarly named sensor bundle contains everything you intend to give.
