Starting pick: Coway Airmega Mighty2 AP-1512N

Choose the full-size AP-1512N deliberately. Coway identifies its Max2 as activated carbon plus HEPA, and the pre-filter slides out from the right side. That is useful if easy access will make routine cleanup more practical. Leave room to reach that side. Specifications.

The trap is the headline: 1,800 sq ft is at one air change per hour, not the basis used for the table. Its replacement page also has separate Mighty2 and Mighty2 Mini selections. Match the full-size purifier when selecting Max2/Fresh Starter+; do not mistake the Mini selection for a color choice.

For larger rooms: Blueair Blue Pure 211i Max

Blueair's 435 CFM smoke CADR and 674 sq ft at 4.8 air changes per hour make this our larger-room pick. Require 211i Max on both the purifier and its replacement filter; “Blue Pure 211” alone is too incomplete for this checklist.

Blueair also lists a separate 211/211+ pre-filter. Match the complete purifier and accessory names before ordering.

The standard box lists a Particle & Carbon filter in the device and a pre-filter on the device. SmokeBlock and AllergenBlock are filter options; a filter subscription is a separate purchase arrangement. Itemize any additional filter instead of counting the installed cartridge as a spare. Compact smart option: Levoit Core 300S-P

The Core 300S-P offers VeSync schedules and measures 8.7 inches across. Its page names the specification model Core 300S, while the separate Core 300-P page names Core 300 and lists 222 sq ft at 4.8 ACH, versus 219 for the smart model. Preserve both the retail name and model-field text in your notes. Smart specifications.

There is a filter-documentation mismatch to catch: the single Original cartridge is Core 300-P-RF, but its short compatibility line omits 300S-P. Levoit's Original two-pack explicitly names Core 300-P / 300S-P and calls the cartridges Core 300-RF. Confirm the exact replacement package rather than inferring compatibility from a shortened title. For a washable pre-filter: Levoit Vital 200S-P

The Vital has a removable washable pre-filter, an additional U-shaped inlet and VeSync schedules. The US page identifies LAP-V201S-WUS and rates it at 388 sq ft at 4.8 ACH. Its manual's troubleshooting section instead mentions 380 sq ft; the table keeps the product-page figure and flags that difference. Maker page, US manual.

Its standard replacement is named Vital 200S Replacement Filter and explicitly covers the Vital 200S-P series. It already includes activated carbon. For separate filter changes: Coway Mighty AP-1512HH

Choose the original HH when you intentionally want its separate deodorization and HEPA filters. Coway specifies replacement at six months and one year, respectively; its Mighty/200M filter set lists one HEPA and two deodorization filters. Count those components when evaluating a bundle.

The purifier page has separate AP-1512HHC (Beige) and AP-1512HHS (Wi-Fi) model selections. Do not transfer the HH row to either selection just because the listing uses “Mighty.”

Buying guide: room size, filters and bedroom controls

Use the same room-rating basis. ACH means air changes per hour; AHAM's suggested room size uses 4.8. Coway rates the same original Mighty at 361 sq ft at 4.8, 874 at two, and 1,748 at one. Those are different operating targets, not three purifier sizes. AHAM also advises a larger-rated unit for ceilings above 8 feet. Coway room figures, AHAM sizing.

Check the exact model in AHAM's directory where listed; its seal separates smoke, dust and pollen CADR. The directory's model results were not retrievable in this source check, so the table labels manufacturer figures and the calculation explicitly. A maker's CADR is not, by itself, a fresh directory verification.

Plan filter upkeep before buying spares. The Vital manual permits pre-filter washing with mild detergent and requires complete air-drying; it says not to clean the main/carbon filter. Its manual gives 12 months for main-filter replacement, while the current replacement page says 6–12 months. Coway likewise gives one year on the Mighty2 purifier page but 6–12 months in the replacement page's opening guidance. The cleaning distinction matters:

• Yes: Vital 200S-P: its separate pre-filter can be washed and fully air-dried.
• No: Core 300S-P: its manual says not to clean the filter with water or other liquids.
• Partly: Mighty2: the product page says washable pre-filter; the manual specifies a vacuum or dry cloth. Use the dry method pending clarification.

Those instructions come from the Vital manual, Core manual, and Mighty2 manual. A washable pre-filter does not establish that the main cartridge is washable.

Check noise and controls together. Levoit publishes 22–50 dB for Core and 23–54 dB for Vital. These ranges do not tell you CADR at the lowest setting; avoid combining minimum noise with maximum room coverage. Both manuals document local buttons, Display Off and optional VeSync functions; the Core manual requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi during setup. Seller and warranty: Coway's policy requires proof of original retail purchase and limits coverage to new products from authorized sellers. Blueair's page says registration extends its warranty from one to three years. Save the applicable terms and receipt; verify eligibility for your seller and country. Returns: Coway's product pages advertise free returns, while its return policy says it pays return freight only for its own errors and asks for the original packaging. That policy covers purchases from Coway USA. For the listing you choose, record the seller's written deadline and who pays shipping; do not assume a maker-direct policy applies to another checkout.
