About this guide
thisHUSH covers comfort, quiet and air-quality gear, not health. Nothing on this site is medical advice: for sleep, breathing or hearing concerns, talk to a doctor.
For Hatch Black Friday shopping, choose Hatch Restore 3 for an adult sunrise alarm, or Hatch Baby for nursery sound and Time-to-Rise light cues. These picks come from official product and support documents checked November 2, 2026. No Black Friday offer is verified here; use this guide to identify the right device and purchase terms before checking the seller's current offer.
Quick picks
- Adult bedside clock: Restore 3. Sunrise alarm, bedside light and dimmable clock; most controls are on the device after app setup.
- Nursery or an OK-to-wake cue: Hatch Baby. Basic sounds, lights and Time-for-Bed/Time-to-Rise cues remain available without Hatch+.
- An older Rest or Rest+ listing: use the model map below before buying. We include these as identification references, not purchase picks.

Sources: Hatch's Restore and Baby pages, battery guide, connection guidance, and Rest+ audio-monitor explanation. The older Rest manual and Rest+ manual identify the second-generation controls and routines.
“Rest plus” is not a complete specification. Ask for the generation and a photograph of the underside label and supplied power equipment. If the seller cannot identify them, skip that listing.
Adult pick: Hatch Restore 3
Restore 3 fits someone who wants a sunrise alarm and bedside sound controls in one clock. Hatch lists a bedside light, dimmable clock and sunrise alarm, with most controls on the device. Its FAQ says setup and registration require the free Hatch Sleep app; phone-free use follows registration.

Hatch
A bedside sunrise alarm, light and sound machine with app setup and conflicting trial guidance: support requires activation, the product FAQ calls it optional, and basic use remains after cancellation.
Check package and model options
- Sunrise alarm (red to orange to white light) plus a bedside light
The linked record covers one Putty Restore 3. Hatch's main selector also shows Greige and Cocoa. Check generation separately from color, and check the itemized contents if choosing a multipack or bundle. The standard purchase includes the device, power cord and quick-start guide, and requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, according to the product page.
The subscription decision: Hatch says Restore works with basic features and core content without an ongoing paid Hatch+ membership. Its product FAQ offers a 30-day Hatch+ trial, with monthly or annual activation presented as an option during setup; it describes renewal to the selected paid plan. However, Restore 3 support says a free trial is required during setup and basic features remain after cancellation. Check the setup terms, leave gift registration to the recipient, and cancel any activated trial before renewal to avoid a charge.

Nursery pick: Hatch Baby
Choose Baby when the requirement is sound, a night light and scheduled Time-for-Bed or Time-to-Rise cues. Hatch describes a large top button that adjusts volume and starts a favorite sound, plus app control. This is a separate buying decision from choosing Restore's sunrise alarm.

Hatch
Hatch's nursery sound machine and night light, the successor to the Hatch Rest, with a big top button, app control over Wi-Fi, Time-for-Bed and Time-to-Rise light cues and three months of Hatch+ included.
Check package and model options
The linked record is Hatch Baby in Putty. Hatch also lists Mint, Peach, Greige and Beechwood. Beechwood changes materials as well as appearance: the FAQ describes a beechwood button and recycled-plastic body. The separately labeled Baby + Hatch Go is a bundle; read its contents rather than treating it as a color option.
Baby's standard package includes the device and power cord, and its page requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. The included Hatch+ access lasts three months. Afterward, the Baby FAQ says basic lights and sounds, Time-to-Rise, Time-for-Bed, Tuck-ins and playback from your phone remain available without renewal. See our OK-to-wake clock guide for choosing and setting the child's cue.
Placement and volume, per Hatch: keep Baby at least 3 feet from the baby's sleep space, ideally near the door, with cords out of reach and never on the crib. Hatch suggests starting sound at 30% and light at 35%, and checking that you can talk at arm's length without raising your voice. These are Hatch's starting settings, not measured sound levels for your room.

Included features versus optional Hatch+
Use the device-specific terms. Restore's trial and Baby's included access are described differently by Hatch; one model's renewal language does not settle the other's.

The conflict to resolve before activation: Baby's product FAQ says the included subscription will not auto-renew, but Hatch's general terms say an activated free trial becomes a billed monthly or annual subscription unless cancelled. We cannot establish which activation screen your purchase will show. Save the model-specific offer and final confirmation, identify who bills it, and ask Hatch to clarify any mismatch before accepting a plan.
- Yes: Restore can retain basic features and core content without Hatch+
- Yes: Baby retains its basic lights, sounds and Time-to-Rise cues without renewal
- Partly: Premium audio and subscription features depend on the device's plan
- No: Baby's non-renewal wording does not establish Restore's renewal terms
Before checkout: package, network and gift ownership
Check the actual package. Record the complete model/generation, finish, condition, quantity and every included power component. Hatch's replacement-cord guide distinguishes USB-cord and barrel-cord versions of original Rest and gives different replacement routes. Do not order a generic “Hatch cable” by appearance.
Check the recipient's network. Restore 3 and Baby both specify 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Their Bluetooth setup connection does not make them equivalent to original Rest, whose app connection uses Bluetooth without Wi-Fi. Baby's schedule guidance says it can work offline briefly but recommends a stable connection for schedules. Phone-free operation is not a promise of full offline operation.
Give the account to the recipient from the start. Hatch's Restore 3 registration guidance says the device stays tied to the setup account until deregistered. Let the recipient register their gift and decide on premium access. Baby's FAQ allows adding another caretaker through app settings; sharing access is different from handing ownership to a new household.
Leave registration to the recipient
Agree who will own the device account and any subscription before setup.
Resolve an existing registration
For a used or previously registered unit, follow the exact model's deregistration guidance or contact Hatch support.
Save the handover details
Keep the order information, package description, activation confirmation and return deadline together.
Can the gift actually be returned after it is opened?
For purchases directly from Hatch, its return policy allows initiating a return within 30 days of the ship date. The product pages advertise a 30-night trial, but their detail also counts from shipment. Do not count the window from the holiday or first use; confirm any holiday extension in writing before buying early.
Hatch's gift-return instructions ask for the order number and shipping ZIP code and describe the gift refund as store credit. Pass those details to the recipient. Third-party purchases must go back to that seller under its own policy, so check that seller's gift deadline and refund method separately.
Returning the hardware also needs a subscription check: Hatch's return policy explicitly reminds customers to cancel an activated trial separately. Its terms say app-store subscriptions are managed through the relevant app store, while direct Hatch subscriptions are managed through Hatch. Save cancellation confirmation if you return the device.
How we choose
We compared Hatch's official product pages, support articles, manuals, recall information and subscription terms. The recommendations match the requested job: adult sunrise alarm or nursery light cue. Older Rest models serve as identification references only. This is document research, without physical product testing or a verified seasonal offer; conflicting terms are identified above rather than silently reconciled. See How we choose.
Verdict
Choose Restore 3 for the adult sunrise-alarm role and Hatch Baby for nursery sound and light cues. Before ordering, match the exact generation and package, confirm the recipient's network and account owner, read the activation terms, and write down the seller's gift-return deadline. Those checks are the reason to use this page before committing to a Black Friday purchase.
Official sources and checked date
Checked November 2, 2026. Official evidence is linked beside the relevant advice: Hatch product pages for the two picks, device-specific support and manuals for older generations, and Hatch's terms, recall and return policies. Frequently asked questions
Is a Hatch Black Friday sale confirmed?
No Black Friday offer is verified in this guide, checked November 2, 2026. It identifies models and purchase conditions rather than forecasting a promotion. Choose the device first, then check the seller's current offer, exact generation, package contents and return deadline. A listing called Hatch Rest does not identify an adult Restore 3.
What is the difference between Hatch Rest and Restore?
Restore 3 is the bedside sunrise-alarm model in this guide, with a dimmable clock and bedside light. Rest and Rest+ are different device names, with several generations covered by Hatch support. Hatch Baby is our nursery pick for sound, light and Time-to-Rise cues. Read the complete model name and generation before ordering; Rest+ 2nd gen adds a charging base and backup battery.
Does Hatch require a subscription?
Ongoing paid Hatch+ membership is optional for basic features. Restore 3's product FAQ offers trial activation during setup, but its support page says a free trial is required; basic features remain after cancellation. Baby retains basic lights, sounds, Time-to-Rise, Time-for-Bed and Tuck-ins without renewal. Baby's FAQ says its three included months will not auto-renew; Hatch's general terms say activated trials renew unless cancelled. Check setup terms, let gift recipients register, and cancel activated trials before renewal to avoid charges.
Do Restore 3 and Hatch Baby need Wi-Fi?
Both product pages specify a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection, so check the recipient's network before buying. Phone-free controls after setup do not remove that requirement. Original Rest works differently: Hatch support says it connects over Bluetooth rather than Wi-Fi. Do not apply an original Rest connection guide to Baby or Restore 3.
When does Hatch's gift-return window start?
Hatch's direct-purchase policy starts the return window at the ship date, with 30 days to initiate a return. Its gift-return instructions request the order number and shipping ZIP code and describe a refund as store credit. Purchases from another seller follow that seller's policy. Confirm the deadline before ordering an early holiday gift.
